About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Logistics Support III to support its team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role supports procurement, materials management, inventory, shipping and receiving, and coordination of material flows to help production run efficiently. It also uses insights from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve the organization’s competitive position.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Five or more years of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Procurement or accounting experience.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent Microsoft Office experience.
• Materials management, customer-focused work, cash handling, and shipping/receiving experience.
• Ability to create and follow processes for the listed work areas.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential suppliers, assessing their quality, reliability, and pricing.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, bids, and bank-statement allocations.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers.
• Generate and maintain reports on material status, inventory levels, and production records, including weekly status reports, and ensure compliance with procurement requirements.
• Oversee the receiving and distribution of materials to support smooth production processes.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and engineering departments to ensure efficient material flow and resource availability.
• Prepare and manage shipping schedules, evaluate production schedules, and determine material requirements to ensure materials are available.
• Apply learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position.
