About The Position

The Logistics Support Analyst is responsible for providing value to our customers. This is accomplished by providing analysis and support of the transportation process, identifying cost efficient transportation improvement opportunities; participating in planning for peak period outbound volumes; measuring and validating service opportunities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in the Logistics field with a working knowledge in shipment planning, transportation and customer service.
  • Intermediate level experience with MS Excel and MS Access an asset
  • Ability to create custom reports using various MS Office programs for presentation to the client and Operations Management
  • Some knowledge in the transportation industry
  • Knowledge of understanding distribution and traffic principles
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Good oral/written skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to build and maintain professional co-operative working relationships with external distribution suppliers
  • Ability to formulate data, analyze information, and make sound logical decisions
  • Ability to handle high volumes of work as well as ability to meet required deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to consistent changes in duties and responsibilities

  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate in a PC Windows environment, successfully complete all recurrence training, maintain annual accreditations where applicable, and work varying shifts based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • technical degree in electrical or related field is a plus
  • Functional French (written and spoken) is required (if incumbent resides in the province of Quebec)

Responsibilities

  • Providing analysis and support to the Client and the Operations Department within the Distribution Center.
  • Supports ensure timely, cost-efficient transportation processes are being adhered to and assist with problem solving activities.
  • Assisting in the review and analysis of transportation carrier capacity planning to meet company shipping requirements.
  • Reviewing daily operational execution efforts, special service requirements, operational problem resolution, and month-end execution.
  • Participating in strategic efforts to plan for peak period volume demands, trailer targets, carrier performance expectations, and month/quarter end requirements.
  • Present data and solutions to customers, both internal and external.
  • Other duties as assigned.
