Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. Raytheon Logistics has a need for a 2nd shift Logistics Supervisor (cell lead). This position has overall responsibility for the logistics team consisting of 15-25 employees. The individual in this role will lead this team of people in a fast-paced dynamic environment to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. In addition to the above, responsibilities include workforce planning and forecasting, employee hiring and training, time and attendance tracking, area layout and flow management. This individual will also be responsible for a safe work environment and will actively lead and engage in safety improvement discussions. This role requires daily interaction with other cross-business teams in Raytheon. These groups primarily include the various manufacturing cells at Raytheon, as well as engineering groups and other Raytheon sites, production control, finance, and the program management office. Achieving/exceeding cost, quality, delivery, safety goals and identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities using six sigma and lean methodologies are critical performance criteria for this position. The position supports deployment of logistics operations strategy, control systems, tools, and metrics to accurately measure progress, identify root causes of failure modes, production capacity, quality and staffing issues and develop/implement corrective action plans.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and 3 years of experience.
  • Experience in Production/ Manufacturing/Operations/Logistics and/or Supply Chain.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with lean / six sigma implementation projects.
  • Previous experience supervising and interfacing bargaining unit employees in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal)
  • Customer focused and Metrics driven and success oriented.
  • Solid people management and interpersonal skills; uses good judgment to resolve conflict
  • Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access)
  • APICS certification or able to obtain certification within 1 year of employment

Responsibilities

  • Execution of schedule and cost.
  • Measure and maintain key performance metrics.
  • Maintaining audit readiness.
  • Managing warehouse workflow; monitor and resolve aging work.
  • Coordinate with and monitor other warehouse areas including RMD sites and 3PL providers.
  • Work with other logistics departments to share resources and cross train workforce.
  • Capital identification and control of overhead expenses.
  • Ensuring the enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing labor, processes, and budgets.
