About The Position

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for supervising the operations and distribution functions of the warehouse. This role supervises activities of those engaged in the movement of finished goods, parts, and inventory control activities. The supervisor proactively engages with management and employees to improve operational processes and maintains a safe and clean work environment for all employees.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HVAC controls related experience.
  • Professionally trained with major brands of residential HVAC systems and controls, including 24v and communicating ones.
  • Knowledge of communicating system and ducted zoning system is a strong plus.
  • Experience with literature, troubleshooting guide and other documentation development.
  • 5 plus years of progressive experience preferably within a high-volume DC environment.
  • 2 plus years of leadership experience.
  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate people to perform at high levels and within established timelines.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse management systems within warehouse environments.
  • Intermediate MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), basic math skills to include adding, subtracting, multiplication and division.
  • Excellent communication skills, including collaboration.
  • Effective relationship management skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to resolve problems.
  • Self-motivated, positive attitude, high-energy individual who can multitask well.
  • Must be quality conscious, process and customer oriented.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives and able to influence across non-direct reports on cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with 5S, Lean principles and Kaizen.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather, weekends, late evenings, and overtime during the peak season.
  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to travel on business or work beyond normal work hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Check operation status report for daily shipments both inbound and outbound to ensure manpower levels are assigned to meet daily volume.
  • Train, develop and mentor all employees including issuing discipline when appropriate.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s and ensure KPI’s are communicated within the operation.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are documented and followed.
  • Manages safety and housekeeping procedures that result in a clean and safe working environment.
  • Manages logistic incident investigations and implements corrective action measures in line with job responsibilities and results of the investigation.
  • Provide a communication network between direct reports and middle and upper management.
  • Encourage and lead team members to work in a safe manner and to seek improvement in work practices for their benefit.
  • Responsible for maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy for all product classes.
  • Ensure all MHE is always in proper working order.
  • Other duties as assigned by warehouse management.
