About The Position

The Services and Support Operations (SSO) Division is a global leader in integrated MRO services and support, renowned for exceptional customer service and expertise throughout the aircraft lifecycle. The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the strategic management of scheduling, monitoring, and administration of outbound and inbound shipments. This role serves as the primary day-to-day contact for the order management team, operations group, and customers, providing logistics expertise to resolve problems, react to emergencies, and assist with cost analysis and project planning. The position involves managing personnel in transportation, shipping, and receiving departments, and interacting with teams from operations, procurement, production control, sales, and accounting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in transportation and logistics.
  • 4-year college degree in business, engineering, or materials management required.
  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities.
  • Must have advanced computer skills and be able to understand electronic processing.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
  • Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have a basic understanding of MRP systems.
  • Must be familiar and able to operate within Government IT systems such as CAV RP, PIEE WAWF and GPM programs.

Responsibilities

  • Implements global transportation programs related to procurement, supplier inventory, and distribution of manufactured products, including processing government furnished material/property.
  • Works closely with procurement, scheduling, and manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Supervises all modes of transportation (truck, rail, airplane, sea) to ensure cost-efficient and customer-sensitive methods are utilized, following established corporate Logistic programs.
  • Participates with management to resolve shipping and receiving delays, managing costs associated with unpredictable conditions (changing priorities, material shortages, quality difficulties, labor shortages).
  • Assists with, or independently, interviews, selects, and negotiates local transportation supplier activity for pricing, strategic timing of material handling, shipping container/packaging, processing of damage claims, and international transportation handling.
  • May directly or indirectly manage company outbound warehousing/distribution network logistics or supplier inbound inventory logistics of materials.
  • Works with management to determine the most cost-efficient utilization of production resources for on-time delivery and minimization of overall cost within single or multi-plant production facilities.
  • Provides daily taskings to contracted warehouse workforce.
  • Follows, updates, and develops standard work processes.
  • Incorporates continuous process improvement efforts targeting efficiency gains for the warehouse workforce.
