About The Position

Teknor Apex is seeking a Logistics Specialist for their 1st shift. This role is crucial for effective communication between shipping, production, sales, customer service, and carriers. The specialist will manage orders from planning to completion, provide freight costs, track shipments, prepare reports, and manage inbound/outbound load schedules. This is a full-time position within a team-oriented manufacturing environment, requiring timely attendance and potentially mandatory overtime due to business needs and safety protocols.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of clerical experience required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Time management and decision-making ability
• Written and verbal communication skills
• General office skills and strong computer skills (eg Microsoft Office) required
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, squat, bend, twist and turn as needed to perform the job.
• Must be able to wear required safety equipment.
• Must be 18 years of age to work at Teknor Apex.

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 years of transportation and shipping experience preferred.
• Prior transportation and shipping experience helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Daily communication with production to review open orders and assure that materials will be available for on time shipment.
• Communicate with customer service to coordinate ship dates, order changes, freight rates, service delays and any other logistics related information.
• Communicate with 3PLs and customer carriers for scheduling coordination.
• Maintain shipping schedule that supports an efficient work plan.
• Prepare and complete all required reports for traffic, shipping, and customers.
• Coordinate and verify accurate completion of all shipment.
• Schedule delivery appointments for inbound materials.
• Become familiar with the basics of air freight, international, and hazardous shipments.
• Log carriers in and out in a timely manner.
• Cross train across multiple business units, as needed.
• Maintain housekeeping and 6S standards.
• Identify quality issues and attain established productivity standards.
• Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform related responsibilities as required or directed.
