As a Logistics Specialist you will support the supply chain process from procurement to final delivery. “Your day-to-day” Primary Responsibility : Warehousing

Requirements

  • Associate’s college degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Prior experience in Distribution, Warehousing, or Transportation industries.
  • Understanding of international Importing/Exporting preferred.
  • Skill/Knowledge: Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication required.
  • Must be able to manage and prioritize tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of rules/regulations of U.S. Customs as well as Hazardous Materials is required.
  • Strong PC skills a must
  • Fluent in English
  • This is not a remote position and will require being in the office five days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory records by completing daily reconciliation of inventory at external warehouse
  • Responsible for completing monthly inventory reconciliations (book vs. physical inventory) as prescribed by our internal controls.
  • Identify reason(s) for differences through research and recommend/implement changes as required.
  • Monitor and receive shipments of product into the external DC. Complete inventory adjustments if needed at the time of delivery.
  • Develop and maintain external DC dock appointment log scheduling
  • Conduct system queries to identify orders for consolidation into single loads.
  • Responsible for evaluating shipment routings, correcting routing errors and generating picking documents for assigned warehouse.
  • Daily delegation of all orders to external DC’ for next day order picking.
  • Ship confirmed in system to generate billing invoices to customers
  • Process loads into inventory once confirmed received at external DC’s.
  • Effectively communicate distribution functions (warehousing, tracing shipment, expediting, etc.) with external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain customer profiles by updating default carrier, warehouse, receiving days or receiving hours as needed.
  • File and manage claims with carriers for shortages, damages or lost product for all LTL shipments from assigned outside warehouse. Process checks once the claims are closed.
  • Research customer claims of shortages, overages and lost product and issue credits/debits to customers.
  • Conduct pricing/volume negotiations with carriers to secure favorable freight rates.
  • Create a weekly warehouse replenishment schedule for outbound loads to the external DC network.
  • Plan and coordinate with carriers to assign loads based upon weekly replenishment schedule.
  • Utilize carrier network to schedule inbound material loads to production site.
  • Schedule dock appts effectively for all deliveries coming into the external warehouse and ensuring product is arriving timely and appropriate parties are being communicated with.
  • Assist in coordinating the import/export of product orders for our vendors. Provide proper documentation, delivery scheduling and payment of freight, duty and taxes.
