About The Position

This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area. The role involves gathering, monitoring, and analyzing inventories for forecasted customers, confirming accurate retain and runout times while maximizing payload and on-time performance. The specialist will evaluate and adjust current and future orders based on driver capacity and customer demands, coordinate with Asset Specialists to update sourcing, and revise the daily operating plan as necessary to ensure operational efficiency. Effective communication with Load Planners, Scheduling Team Leaders, and external customers regarding service issues is crucial. The role also includes soliciting new and existing customers for freight opportunities.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent business experience
• Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft and logistics application software
• Ability to solve problems and work in high pressure situations, using independent judgement and discretion
• Ability to work well in teams with staff and contractors from all departments
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Excellent personal skills and positive attitude

Nice To Haves

• Degree preferred
• Previous logistics dispatch/scheduling experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Gather, monitor, and analyze inventories for forecasted customers

• Evaluate and adjust current and future orders based on driver capacity and customer demands
• Coordinate with Asset Specialists to update known sourcing as changes occur and revise daily operating plan as necessary to ensure operational efficiency
• Communicate effectively with Load Planners, Scheduling Team Leaders, and external customers on service issues
• Solicit new and existing customers for freight opportunities
• Promote positive work habits including effective and timely communication, teamwork and respect for co-workers
• Provide constructive guidance to other employees and representatives of third parties
• Contribute to providing the highest quality of products and services to customers
