About The Position

The Logistics Specialist, Imports/Exports will be responsible for day-to-day operational orders from the IDC in the USA and Imports orders arriving in Canada. This role coordinates export orders out of both the US and Canada, manages communication with brokers and freight forwarders, and performs inventory reconciliation with an external warehouse in Canada. The specialist will also maintain operational relationships with third-party providers such as warehouse service providers and management logistics service providers. Key duties include inbound receiving and SAP inventory transactions to ensure stock availability in accordance with established processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Logistics.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a global environment with a complex matrix organization, preferable in the Animal Nutrition industry.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in Warehousing and Distribution.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations (both US and Canada).
  • Experience with trade agreements and tarrif classifications.
  • Experience working with brokers and freight forwarders (both in US and Canada).
  • Experience in dealing with authorities and internal or external audits.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Warehousing and Transportation in general and Hazmat materials.
  • Problem solving skills in a complex and fast-moving environment.
  • Advanced computing skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and SAP (R/3 and Business Warehouse).
