About The Position
MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Tampa, Florida, at $16.50 per hour. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and involves long-distance driving throughout Florida. Most of the workday is spent in a company-owned vehicle transporting healthcare-related materials, including lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related items. Route duties and assignments may vary based on client and business needs and may change over time; drivers must be able to perform all duties across assigned routes. Requirements
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
- Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
- Familiarity with technology and ability to adapt to it.
- Ability to follow procedures closely.
- Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
- Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
- Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent driving history.
- COVID-19 vaccination proof may be required depending on location and local mandates.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including items from storage racks.
- Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
- Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup and drop-off responsibilities or routes are inconsistent.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment; results are evaluated under company policy and applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
- Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
- Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
- Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
- Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
- Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
- Perform duties across assigned routes as needed; route duties and assignments may vary or change based on client and business needs.
- Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
- Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
