About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Halethorpe for $16.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with initial flexibility to start or end the day up to an hour earlier or later. The role may involve long-distance driving throughout Maryland, and route assignments may change based on client and business needs. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, X-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. Drivers use a handheld scanning device to track items, follow operating policies and service schedules, load and unload vehicles, inspect and maintain vehicles, and represent MedSpeed professionally to clients and the public. The work requires adapting to route and item variations, collaborating with teammates and clients, and meeting physical demands that include lifting, carrying, walking, and standing. Requirements

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for at least 3 years.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout a shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, lift items from storage racks, walk long distances, and stand for long periods.
Complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment after receiving an offer.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, X-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items through the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
Load and unload company vehicles with appropriate equipment.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Perform duties across assigned routes, adapting to route changes and client or business needs.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
