About The Position

The Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver role is based in Charlottesville, Virginia, pays $17.00 per hour, and works full time Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 8:00 PM. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to safely transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. Route duties and assignments may vary according to client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. Requirements

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for 3 years.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout a shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent driving history.
COVID-19 vaccination proof may be required depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, lift items off storage racks, walk long distances, and stand for long periods.
Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when drop-off and pick-up responsibilities or routes are inconsistent.
Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interaction.
Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Perform duties across assigned routes, adapting to route changes and varying client and business needs.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
