About The Position

MedSpeed is hiring a full-time Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver in Halethorpe, Maryland. The role pays $16.00 per hour and runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It involves long-distance driving throughout Maryland. Most of the workday is spent in a company-owned vehicle transporting medical and healthcare-related items for MedSpeed’s clients. Route duties and assignments may vary based on client and business needs, and drivers must be able to perform duties across assigned routes. MedSpeed provides training through its Blue Shirt Certified program and describes its culture as emphasizing teamwork, integrity, growth, and reliable service. Candidates receiving an offer must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review. A COVID-19 vaccination may be required depending on location and local mandates.

Requirements

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
At least 19 years of age and an active driver’s license held for at least 3 years.
Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
Familiarity with technology and ability to adapt to it.
Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
Excellent driving history.
COVID-19 vaccination proof, depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including lifting items off storage racks.
Comfort walking long distances and standing for long periods.
Ability to handle varying item weights and physical demands even when pickup and drop-off responsibilities or routes vary.
Successful completion of a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment after an offer.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Use a handheld scanning device to track items accurately through the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Perform duties across assigned routes; adapt to route assignments that may change based on client and business needs.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
