About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with healthcare organizations to transport medical supplies, specimens, and other materials. The Medical Driver role serves locations in Belen, Los Lunas, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most of the workday is spent driving a company-owned vehicle to safely transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials. The position is part-time, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM. MedSpeed provides training through its Blue Shirt Certified program and offers fixed schedules and opportunities for career advancement. Employees work with clients in healthcare environments, including hospitals, physician offices, and laboratories, where safety, trust, and compliance are essential. Candidates receiving an offer must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review; results are evaluated under company policy and applicable laws.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver's license for 3 years.
Excellent driving history.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity working with and adapting to technology.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screens.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and lift items off storage racks.
Comfort with walking and standing for long periods.
Must complete a criminal background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record review as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials.
Load and unload the company vehicle using appropriate equipment.
Use a handheld scanning device to track items throughout the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
