About The Position

A collaborative communicator, you build strong relationships across teams and with external partners while confidently managing multiple, time-sensitive initiatives. As the Logistics Planner, reporting to the Manager, Logistics, you are a key member of a dynamic supply chain team responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of product from U.S. manufacturing and reload facilities to customers across global markets. Working closely with Sales, Planning, Finance, Operations, and Transportation—as well as third-party vendors—you play a critical role in supporting business performance through effective logistics execution and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Wood Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing environments; lumber industry experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency with modern office software, reporting tools, and logistics or transportation systems.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining monthly, weekly, and daily order files that balance supply, demand, production, and transportation constraints.
  • Coordinating inventory levels and shipment schedules with Sales, Planning, Product Supply, Transportation, and Operations teams.
  • Making timely logistics decisions that directly impact on-time delivery, working capital, and transportation costs.
  • Acting as a key liaison with manufacturing facilities and third-party reload operations to support customer commitments.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving shipping issues while minimizing customer, operational, and financial impacts.
  • Managing equipment allocation, freight routes, rates, and asset utilization, including detention, demurrage, and diversions.
  • Monitoring shipment progress, preparing reports, and participating in tactical meetings to support business decisions.
  • Supporting vendor invoicing activities, including reconciliation, discrepancy resolution, and freight invoice approval.
  • Cross-training across logistics functions and providing operational backup as required.
