Logistics Planner

D-CareerDuncan, SC

About The Position

The Logistics Planner will be responsible for planning, implementing, supporting, and improving logistics processes at the site in coordination with central logistics planning. This role involves attending and planning Engineering Change activities, participating in logistics capacity and resource planning, leading simpler logistics projects, and carrying out logistics planning in site and/or carline projects. The planner will also participate in more complex logistics projects at the site, and will plan, describe, optimize, and implement logistics processes according to the best practice approach.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years of Automotive Logistics desired
  • 1 to 2 years of Material Flow Planning
  • 1 to 2 years of Lean Production

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of previous Project Management is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, support, and improve logistics processes at the site in coordination with central logistics planning.
  • Attend and plan Engineering Change activities.
  • Participate in logistics capacity and resource planning for the relevant plant.
  • Lead simpler logistics projects and carry out logistics planning in the site and/or the carline project.
  • Participate in more complex logistics projects at the site.
  • Plan, describe, optimize, and implement logistics processes according to the best practice approach.
  • Participate in collecting data for capacity and resource planning for the relevant plant.
  • Participate in working out integrated (process) optimizations and ensure implementation by taking organization and/or EDP action.
  • Adapt and optimize the use of standard systems and processes.
  • Make simple feasibility studies and sit examinations from a logistics point of view.
  • Develop and implement action for sustainable logistics supply quality.
  • Participate in macro and micro value streams as a planning basis.
  • Participate in planning and implementing provision concepts in production for a carline project and/or across the sites in coordination with central logistics planning.
  • Participate in permanently optimizing the material flow at the relevant plant for a carline project and/or across the site in coordination with central logistics planning.
  • Participate in industrial manufacture workshops in coordination with central logistics planning in order to work out mutual solutions and to optimize cooperation between logistics and production.
  • Participate in defining the logistics product structure, in compiling rough packaging concepts and industrial manufacture according to the workshop concept.
  • Participate in compiling emergency plans.
  • Determine necessary storage levels and storage options according to the standards/guidelines and their regular optimization after changes.
  • Apply standard systems and standard planning tools for storage levels, FIFO buffers, route planning and necessary Kanban buffers.
  • Show the capacity utilization of storage levels over the timeline and work out recommended action.
  • Ensure clear, updated marking of sources, reductions, routes, stops, etc, at the plant; regularly check and ensure adherence to logistics standards.
  • Identify, recommend, and carry out/check process improvements in the logistics area.
  • Contribute to the planning and optimization of timetables, delivery time window, ramp allocations, and number of exchange trailers.
  • Carrying out packing tests, transport tests, and documenting the results.
