About The Position

The Logistics Operator position is responsible for reading and understanding order paperwork to correctly identify manifest contents, scanning all product as it enters the assigned department to maintain accurate inventory, and completing required paperwork after loading trailers including verification of load for each trailer. The role also involves double-checking that each load is safely and properly secured following a ‘360 Walk Around’ of each load for safe distribution. The operator must exercise the company’s safety guidelines and follow all PPE protocols, properly lift, handle, and carry product, asking for help when needed to ensure safe lifting techniques. Maintaining an organized, clean, and safe environment is crucial. The role includes performing forklift prechecks and operating a forklift when needed, as well as performing forklift, company vehicle, and trailer prechecks. Recording and reporting issues with AWD vehicles and trailers to Fleet Maintenance for repairs or standard care is also a responsibility. The Logistics Operator will work as a member of the Distribution team, supporting colleagues when help is needed or requested, and working occasional overtime hours and weekends as needed, with adjusted schedules and/or responsibilities to support the Avanti Team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Basic computer knowledge and navigation are required
  • Will be expected to develop proficiency in Avanti software (i.e. FeneVision, etc.) and be/become familiar with Apple iOS
  • English language skills are required, verbal and written
  • Ability to read, interpret, understand, and explain documents such as manifest and product order paperwork, or product specifications
  • Ability to effectively present information to others, gather information from others, and respond appropriately to questions from customers, coworkers, and managers
  • Must display excellent phone and email etiquette
  • Must be able to present an appropriate attitude for the situation when interacting with customers or coworkers
  • Must be a team player and exhibit a strong desire to learn and promote self-growth
  • Must be pro-active, self-disciplined, self-motivated, and have demonstrated ability to follow projects through to completion
  • Attention to detail is required

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in material handling or operating a forklift is desirable but not required
