The Logistics Operations Specialist is part of Gigamon’s Logistics Operations team and serves as the primary local interface with contracted warehouse, fulfillment, and service partners in the Dallas area. This onsite role provides operational governance by evaluating warehouse conditions, processes, records, and system activity against Gigamon requirements and business priorities. The Specialist uses independent judgment to assess urgency, materiality, customer and business impact, and the appropriate response, including corrective action, containment, shipment holds, or escalation. Through supplier influence, issue ownership, and disciplined follow-through, this role helps protect fulfillment performance, inventory accuracy, customer commitments, service operations, and operational controls.

Requirements

• Earned a bachelor’s degree or developed equivalent practical experience.
• Gained experience in warehouse, fulfillment, inventory, service logistics, manufacturing, or related operations.
• Worked directly with third-party warehouse, fulfillment, or service partners.
• Analyzed operational performance, inventory accuracy, process compliance, and corrective actions.
• Used warehouse management systems and ERP systems; experience with D365 is a plus.
• Applied working knowledge of domestic and international shipping, import/export, and transportation operations.
• Used Excel to analyze and report operational metrics.
• An independent decision-maker who exercises sound judgment in a time-sensitive operating environment.
• An effective influencer who can improve supplier outcomes without direct authority and hold partners accountable for execution.
• A strong analytical and problem-solving professional who can assess root causes and translate findings into practical actions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Gigamon’s primary onsite contact for contracted warehouse, fulfillment, and service partners in the Dallas area.
• Interpret Gigamon requirements, clarify expectations, establish priorities, and coordinate partner responses across operational functions.
• Observe and evaluate inbound, outbound, inventory, returns, material handling, and service-related processes to verify compliance with Gigamon requirements.
• Review operating records and system transactions, identify deviations, assess potential impact, and determine whether issues require local resolution, containment, corrective action, or escalation.
• Influence partner work sequencing, prioritization, verification points, documentation, training, and temporary containment to improve execution and prevent recurrence.
• Hold partners accountable for agreed actions and deadlines while maintaining effective working relationships and a trust-but-verify approach.
• Assess outbound shipments for readiness, accuracy, documentation, and customer or compliance risk; coordinate corrections or recommend shipment holds when appropriate.
• Monitor warehouse performance indicators, including shipment accuracy, inventory accuracy, receiving and put-away accuracy, turnaround time, and process compliance.
• Compare actual performance with Gigamon requirements, targets, historical trends, and current business priorities to identify recurring failure modes and determine corrective action.
• Oversee receiving, put-away, inventory movements, returns, and system transactions to support accurate product availability, fulfillment, financial reporting, and control compliance.
• Investigate inbound, return, and inventory discrepancies; determine whether material should be accepted, quarantined, reworked, returned, or escalated.
• Evaluate the likely source and scope of inventory variances, determine whether additional locations or transactions require review, and confirm that corrective actions resolve issues appropriately.
• Support shipment integrity activities, including outbound imaging and execution checks, when required to protect customer commitments and operational risk.
• Provide onsite quarter-end and month-end readiness oversight by assessing open-order readiness, inventory availability, documentation completeness, partner capacity, and risks to shipment timing or accuracy.
• Verify that warehouse operations achieve the intent of Gigamon work instructions, control requirements, and agreed operating procedures under actual operating conditions.
• Distinguish routine execution variances from significant control, customer, financial, or operational risks and select the appropriate response.
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions related to work sequencing, ownership, verification, training, documentation, system activity, staffing, prioritization, or temporary containment.
• Recommend improvements that strengthen inventory accuracy, material flow, service performance, process compliance, and operating cost, while evaluating expected benefits, risks, and implementation considerations.
• Own issue follow-through from identification and containment through partner corrective action, validation, escalation, and closure.
• Support formal supplier audits led by Supplier Quality by validating operational facts, explaining Gigamon requirements, assessing the significance of findings, coordinating partner responses, and following corrective actions to closure.
• Provide Fulfillment, Inventory, Tech Ops, and Service Logistics with real-time onsite assessments of operating conditions, risks, root causes, and recommended actions.
• Coordinate exception resolution involving shipment release or delay, material availability, returns, repairs, replacements, spares fulfillment, priority handling, documentation, and inventory movements.
• Prioritize actions based on customer, revenue, service, inventory, compliance, and operating-cost impact, and escalate matters requiring leadership, policy, commercial, or cross-functional decisions.
