This role is part of the North America Logistics Team and is responsible for executing tactical day-to-day transportation operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of transportation industries, logistics operations, and shipping/receiving processes
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or other relevant software
  • Working knowledge of a Transportation Management System (E2Open preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Executing tactical day-to-day transportation operations for an assigned business area within the North America Logistics Team.
  • Ensuring adherence to sourcing strategy and routing guides by assigning and tendering shipments to carriers using applicable load planning / transportation management systems.
  • Executing spot market decisions when routing guide capacity has been exhausted or does not exist.
  • Daily interaction with carriers to identify and resolve service issues.
  • Organizing and consolidating LTL shipments into truckloads where applicable, while reducing transportation expense.
  • Monitoring shipments to ensure on-time pick-up and delivery.
  • Supporting shipping locations with rush shipment arrangements and issue resolution.
  • Acting as a liaison between Sales/Customer Service, Plant Operations, and Procurement stakeholders.
  • Supporting in the development of SOP’s, training, KPI metrics, continuous improvement initiatives and other project work.
  • Monitoring and managing load-level costs, including accessorial review and approvals.
  • Supporting ad-hoc TMS system administration activities, such as managing payable tariffs, rates, and routing guides.
  • Assisting as a backup/backfill with other logistics roles.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
