About The Position

The Material Handler/Pick Pack person is primarily responsible for the effective operation of the logistics system. The role handles materials within the facility, including moving raw materials to machines and removing finished materials for shipping. The position works primarily in the warehouse and/or production area and includes dock work, order picking and packing, inventory support, and operating material-handling equipment. Employees must follow required eye, ear, and foot protection practices in manufacturing and warehouse areas.

Requirements

Must be forklift qualified and able to pass the company forklift-licensing program.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
High school degree is mandatory.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with people of varied educational and technical backgrounds, inside and outside the company.
Ability to perform various mathematical functions, with emphasis on the measurable impact of calculations.
Must be willing and able to cross-train and perform all tasks within the operational facility.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of forklift experience is recommended.

Responsibilities

Move raw materials to machines and remove finished materials for shipping.
Pick orders independently with accuracy and efficiency.
Pack orders accurately and efficiently.
Communicate effectively with carriers, customer service representatives, and management.
Perform preventive maintenance and safety checks on forklifts.
Use forklift attachments safely and efficiently.
Learn and efficiently operate FedEx and UPS equipment.
Perform functions normally assigned to Material Handlers and other duties as assigned.
Assist the supervisor with locating inventory and assist with inventory activities.
Assist with location audits and maintenance.
Cross-train and perform tasks throughout the operational facility.
