About The Position

Alphagary, part of Orbia Polymer Solutions, is hiring a Logistics Manager in Leominster, Massachusetts. The role manages transportation of finished goods to domestic and international customers within delivery and cost guidelines, including carrier selection and delivery timeliness. It also oversees receiving incoming raw materials, warehouse operations, and inventory accuracy. The manager trains and develops direct reports and ensures employees meet work, safety, health, and performance standards. The position works across Shipping, Production, Quality, and Customer Service to facilitate finished-goods shipments and provide customers with accurate delivery information. It is responsible for safe, compliant logistics operations, sound housekeeping, cost control, and continual improvement of safety policies and procedures. Alphagary manufactures specialty compounds for products used in areas such as technology, healthcare, and housing. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Business Administration or Transportation Management is preferred.
At least 5 years of successful logistics or warehouse management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of U.S. and international processes, safety requirements, and regulations for shipping and receiving goods, including bulk tankers and rail cars.
Prior management experience with a 3PL offsite warehouse.
Experience with internal and external controlled audits.
Strong planning, organizing, and administrative abilities.
Proven problem-solving ability and understanding of procedures in a global matrixed environment.
Ability to work as a self-directed team player and collaborate with stakeholders across functions.
Excellent communication and listening skills.
Strong time-management skills, including the ability to handle conflicting priorities and business pressures.
Strong analytical and cost skills to evaluate business financial impacts and identify cost-efficient solutions.
Ability to coach and train employees.
Demonstrated focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain shipping schedules that meet business needs and budgetary costs.
Monitor customer satisfaction through on-time delivery metrics, cost, and the quantity and nature of customer complaints.
Ensure carriers meet state and federal requirements for domestic and international shipments.
Maintain accurate shipping and finished-goods inventory records and organize warehouse locations for finished goods before shipment.
Manage shipping programs and priorities within cost targets, complete intercompany shipments promptly and cost-effectively, and move raw materials from outside warehouses to supply production.
Promote employee motivation and engagement, and ensure effective training, development, performance, and safety practices.
Ensure compliance with company safety programs, including ongoing safety training, forklift operation, HazCom, and applicable OSHA regulations.
Maintain communication among Shipping, Production, Quality, and Customer Service to facilitate shipments and provide accurate delivery information to customers.
Manage raw-material and finished-goods inventory accuracy, conduct daily cycle counts, and help resolve inventory discrepancies.
Ensure logistics operations are safe and comply with company and insurer safety and environmental policies.
Contribute to the development and improvement of safety policies and procedures and maintain good housekeeping standards.
