This position is responsible for the safe execution of all logistics, transportation, warehousing, and material movement activities supporting ship newbuilding and major marine construction programs. The role involves planning, directing, and coordinating international and domestic logistics for major vessel equipment, machinery, systems, components, and materials. This includes developing and executing logistics plans for large equipment shipments, coordinating with various service providers, and establishing a comprehensive shipment tracking system. The manager will monitor purchase orders, provide status reporting, identify and mitigate logistics risks, and ensure compliance with import/export regulations. Responsibilities also include planning transportation for specialized equipment, developing logistics schedules aligned with project timelines, managing receiving operations, directing warehousing activities, and ensuring proper preservation and storage of materials. The role also oversees internal yard logistics, material flow, and staging plans to support production activities, and maintains accurate inventory information. Performance metrics will be established and monitored for various logistics functions, and cost-control measures will be implemented. The manager will also manage logistics contractors, coordinate inspections and claims, develop contingency plans, and maintain auditable logistics records. Finally, the position involves developing resource plans and providing leadership, motivation, and professional development for logistics personnel, promoting a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
