About The Position

DCI Marketing, Inc., a division of the Marmon Group and a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is seeking a Logistics Manager. This role is responsible for arranging the most cost-effective shipping methods for the company's fixtures and displays to meet customer delivery requirements. The Logistics Manager will oversee all aspects of Logistics for DCI, coordinating domestic and international shipments, obtaining freight quotes, determining appropriate carriers, booking shipments, and preparing international documentation. The position also involves creating load diagrams, serving as a contact for suppliers regarding logistics, coordinating internal product movements, tracking shipments, resolving fulfillment issues, reviewing and approving freight invoices, updating internal systems, processing damage claims, maintaining logistics documentation, assisting with 3PL and shipping software implementation, and supporting freight spend initiatives. The role requires tracking pertinent KPIs for carrier performance and spend.

Requirements

  • 3+ years related logistics experience
  • Associates Degree (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience) or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience and/or background with importing and exporting procedures, requirements, and execution
  • Demonstrated problem solving, customer service, and teamwork skills in a fast paced environment
  • Proven success managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle a flexible work schedule to accommodate time-sensitive shipment requirements
  • Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP systems, carrier portal systems, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange the most cost-effective method of shipping the company's fixtures and displays to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Oversee all aspects of Logistics for DCI.
  • Coordinate a variety of logistics requests and activities for domestic and international shipments of all company projects.
  • Obtain competitive freight quotes, including national average pricing requests.
  • Determine appropriate carrier and method of shipment for customer and supplier shipments based on order and project requirements.
  • Book shipments with carriers and arrange pickups as requested via carrier portals, email, etc.
  • Prepare international documentation per country regulations.
  • Create load diagrams using company software to assist with freight estimates as needed.
  • Serve as a key contact for company suppliers, providing assistance with logistics processes and requirements and ensuring compliance.
  • Coordinate internal product movements between warehouses and suppliers.
  • Track shipment progress for time-sensitive shipments and monitor for delays, resolving fulfillment issues.
  • Review, code, and approve freight invoices for payment.
  • Update internal systems with product and carton dimension information.
  • Process and file damage loss claims with transportation providers and follow up on a timely basis to ensure payment of claims are made.
  • Maintain logistics documentation including customer routing guides, international documents, and documents related to compliance regulations.
  • Assist and manage 3PL implementation and Shipping software implementation, processes and internal training.
  • Assist Operations Manager with Fed Ex/UPS leverage spend initiatives and all other freight related spend initiatives as required.
  • Track pertinent KPI’s on a monthly basis to be reported to Operations Manager on carrier performance and spend.
