About The Position

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating the delivery of solar construction materials, equipment, and tools to project sites. This role involves monitoring shipments, addressing issues proactively, and ensuring materials arrive according to project schedules. The position requires maintaining accurate inventory records, managing laydown yards, and fostering strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. The Logistics Manager will also collaborate with project teams, provide logistics forecasts, and ensure critical materials are available. Additionally, the role involves maintaining documentation, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, warehouse operations, or construction material management.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience using inventory management, logistics, or ERP software systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in utility-scale solar construction.
  • Knowledge of solar project materials, equipment, and construction processes.
  • Experience managing laydown yards and large-scale material deliveries.
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate the delivery of solar construction materials, equipment, and tools to project sites.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively address delays, shortages, or transportation issues.
  • Coordinate site deliveries to ensure materials arrive according to project schedules and operational needs.
  • Work closely with suppliers, freight carriers, and vendors to maintain uninterrupted material flow.
  • Manage project mobilization and demobilization logistics.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all project materials and equipment.
  • Track material usage and monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Coordinate the receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Manage laydown yards, storage facilities, and warehouse operations as required.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding purchase orders, delivery schedules, and shipment status.
  • Verify materials received match purchase orders and project requirements.
  • Coordinate material returns, replacements, and warranty claims when necessary.
  • Assist with evaluating supplier and transportation provider performance.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Quality Control personnel, and Procurement teams to support project objectives.
  • Provide logistics forecasts and material availability updates to project leadership.
  • Ensure critical materials are available to support project schedules and production goals.
  • Support project planning efforts through material tracking and resource coordination.
  • Utilize computer systems and inventory management software to track shipments and materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, inventory counts, equipment assignments, and transportation activities.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly logistics reports for management.
  • Document material shortages, damaged shipments, and delivery discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and site-specific requirements.
  • Maintain organized and safe storage areas for materials and equipment.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and inspections.
  • Promote a culture of safety and accountability across all logistics operations.
