We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Logistics Manager in Houston, TX. Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. PSLD is responsible for the worldwide distribution of Cat aftermarket parts, integrated logistics, and global service to develop and support our global dealer network and customers. Requirements

  • Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools to developing and improving individual, team, and organizational performance.
  • Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Knowledge of transportation; ability to transport materials and goods to and from suppliers, distribution centers, manufacturing facilities and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical understanding of the manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Three (3) plus years of progressively responsible Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Production or Operations experience.
  • SAP Mach1 Experience
  • Power BI Experience
  • Salesforce Experience
  • Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques and ability to create and support an environment that meets the quality goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and developing logistics plans that affect production, distribution, and inventory specific to area of responsibility.
  • Improving logistics processes through process improvement, prioritization, RCCA’s and project planning.
  • Ensuring day-to-day 3PL physical and transactional operational execution
  • Executing Production Schedule between Caterpillar and 3PL
  • Tracking of Caterpillar KPI performance and completes RCCA’s when KPI’s not achieved
  • Managing 3PL operational performance and acts as single point of contact
  • Conducting audits to verify adherence to the process.
  • Supporting Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) and Cycle Counting
  • Supports the development and execution of quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines, and control plans which assure quality and reliability of manufactured products.
  • Implement Quality Control and Assurance with Caterpillar 3PL, based on Caterpillar Product Group provided standard work and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) checklists.
