About The Position

Graphic Packaging International is a leading manufacturer of paperboard and paper-based packaging for various global brands. We are seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee and perform work related to Logistics Planning & Optimization, Warehouse & Distribution Center Operations, Transportation Management, and Fleet Management. This role involves directing and guiding the work of others, managing resources, and achieving operational and financial results. The position requires people management actions such as hiring, training, and developing employees. Progression in this role reflects increased scope, responsibilities, and business/industry experience. The manager will lead experienced professionals and supervisors, often heading a section or small department, and will adapt plans to meet short-term challenges. The role requires analyzing situations, solving problems, and understanding how their area integrates with other departments. They will interpret and administer policies, develop schedules, and may have budget responsibilities. Decisions made in this role can impact work processes and outcomes, and errors may cause significant delays and resource expenditure. The position also includes responsibilities related to Safe Quality Food (SQF), requiring adherence to plant rules, hygiene, and allergen procedures, reporting unsafe conditions, and participating in SQF-related investigations and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

Manages or performs work associated with Logistics Planning & Optimization.
Manages or performs work associated with Warehouse & Distribution Center Operations (Warehouse, Warehouse Shipping & Receiving, Distribution Center, Distribution Inbound/Outbound, Materials Handling, etc.).
Manages or performs work associated with Transportation Management.
Manages or performs work associated with Fleet Management.
Directs, leverages, and guides the work of others and mobilizes resources.
Monitors and achieves operational and/or financial results for their area of responsibility.
Performs people management actions such as hiring, terminating, rewarding, training, and developing employees.
Manages experienced professionals and/or supervisors.
Adapts departmental plans and priorities to meet short-term challenges.
Analyzes situations or data requiring evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of concepts, theories, and principles in own discipline and a basic knowledge of other disciplines.

Follows all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
Reports to person of authority any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
Participates in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
Follows all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
Reports any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
