About The Position

We are seeking a collaborative candidate with strong knowledge of drayage and import/export operations, as well as experience reviewing, managing, and making decisions based on profit-and-loss statements. This is a fully onsite position. Develop and lead the team responsible for the movement and coordination of product in and out of the facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 7 years of progressive fleet, transportation, or logistics operations experience, with 3 years of dedicated leadership experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Strong working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and fleet safety compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing fleet operating budgets and cost-control initiatives.
  • Experience with fleet management systems, maintenance platforms, telematics, ELD systems, and/or TMS platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilities.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full operational oversight of regional fleet operations across multiple sites, including asset availability, maintenance execution, and driver performance.
  • Accountable for ensuring compliance with all applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service requirements, environmental standards (as applicable), and company safety policies.
  • Own fleet performance outcomes, including uptime, cost-per-mile, asset utilization, safety metrics, downtime, and service reliability.
  • Develop and execute fleet strategy to optimize lifecycle cost, equipment replacement planning, capital input, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide input into fleet capital planning, asset procurement, replacement schedules, and vendor selection.
  • Manage fleet operating budgets, maintenance spend, labor costs, vendor contracts, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, safety, and compliance risks impacting service continuity.
  • Partner with transportation planning, dispatch, warehouse, and customer-facing teams to align fleet capacity with shipment demand and network strategy.
  • Oversee external vendor relationships, including maintenance providers, equipment suppliers, and service partners.
  • Evaluate and implement fleet systems, telematics, maintenance platforms, and process improvements to enhance operational visibility and data-driven decision-making.
  • Prepare and present fleet performance reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable Fleet Supervisors and operational staff; establish performance standards and address underperformance.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
