As a Logistics Manager, you’ll be an integral part of operations at the Raytheon site in Tewksbury, MA. In this role, you’ll support a variety of logistics functions focused on dock-to-stock operations including receiving, warehousing, and internal material movements. Additionally, this role will integrate with internal and external business partners to support outbound packaging and sales. As part of your job, you’ll use a number of systems, tools, and forms on a daily basis, and will also provide frequent email and phone support. This role will be a blend of tactical support combined with strategic initiatives to drive improvement initiatives across the value chain. As a Logistics Manager you will directly manage a team of logistics operators and support staff in direct support of the Raytheon Tewksbury operations. In this leadership role you’re accountable for results: safety, security, compliance, mission assurance, key performance indicators, business system data integrity and financial results to budget. You’ll manage a team to ensure efficiency of receiving dock operations, packaging and shipping, and warehouse operations. Your team will be responsible for efficient material movements ensuring customer service level cycle time and through-put requirements are met. You’ll actively establish, lead and participate in continuous improvement projects within Raytheon, as well as, at the enterprise level. This role requires successful daily interaction with cross functional teams, programs and business units to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups include: planning, production control, quality, test/design engineering, maintenance, finance and the program management office.

Requirements

  • Typically requires university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in one or more of those areas: Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Inventory and/or Warehousing environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Logistics experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • Ability to lead in a team-based, customer focused, safety conscious manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Solid People Management Skills – goal setting, delegation, coaching, motivating, conflict management.
  • ASCM CLTD/CSCP or equivalent required (achieve within first 12 months).

Responsibilities

  • Workforce planning and forecasting.
  • Manage and optimize Logistics team of support staff responsible for all aspects of dock-to-stock material flow.
  • Employee hiring, training and performance.
  • Collaboration with leaders across the enterprise to formulate material, production and logistics plans and requirements, and identify and meet organizational goals and objectives.
  • Interacting with front line leaders and their teams to ensure accuracy and velocity of material positions.
  • Ensuring the enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulations and internal audit protocols.
  • Ensuring material movements meet contractual quality, and cost by planning, organizing, and directing the flow of material.
  • Evaluation of leading and lagging metrics that drive and/or affect material flow process.
  • Area layout and material flow optimization.
  • Driving continuous improvement and demonstrated capability to utilize Lean Six Sigma as a key enabler to accomplish these improvements.
  • Capital identification and control of overhead expenses.
  • Achieving/exceeding cost, quality, delivery, safety goals and identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
