About The Position

Candidates for this opportunity should be motivated, organized, and responsive self‑starters capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. The selected candidate will serve as a Logistics Specialist within an Aviation Product Office. This position provides lifecycle logistics support to Army weapon systems, ensuring all acquisition, fielding, sustainment, and modification activities are coordinated and executed effectively within a PEO/PMO environment. It integrates key logistics functions—supply, maintenance, provisioning, training, transportation/transportability, and fielding—while leading core processes such as Type Classification (TC), Materiel Release (MR), and Modification Work Orders (MWOs). The role manages MRTS data and get‑well planning, leads TC/MR IPTs, coordinates MWO and ECP actions, and supports VAL/VER events in collaboration with Capability Managers, CASCOM, OEMs, and government stakeholders to maintain compliant and cohesive lifecycle support.

Requirements

  • Experience with DoD acquisition policies and specifications to support product planning, development, acquisition, fielding strategies, and schedule execution.
  • Experience with AR 770‑3 and DA PAM 770‑3 governing the processes required to obtain a weapon system Type Classification (TC) and Materiel Release (MR).
  • Knowledge of the different materiel release types for both hardware and software.
  • Experience preparing, coordinating, and staffing TC and MR packages through the appropriate Functional Authority (FA).
  • Experience entering MR data into the Materiel Release Tracking System (MRTS).
  • Monitors MRTS get‑well planning dates and conditions, and notifies the Product Support Manager (PSM) when a get‑well extension request is required.
  • Leads TC/MR Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities, prepares briefing materials, documents meeting minutes, and maintains the action‑item tracker.
  • Knowledge of AR 750‑10 Army Modification Program requirements, including DA Form 7591 MWO fielding plans and DA Form 7592 MWO concurrence exhibits.
  • Understands Class I and Class II Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and their relationship to the MWO development and approval process.
  • Experience entering and tracking MWOs in the Modification Management Information System (MMIS), including monitoring unit compliance for MWO application.
  • Coordinates MWO packages with the Life‑Cycle Management Command (LCMC) MWO coordinator to ensure proper review and approval.
  • Plans and schedules MWO validation (VAL) and verification (VER) events with stakeholders, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and Government agencies.
  • Identifies contractual requirements, including CDRLs, for MWO‑related tasks and incorporates them into Statements of Work (SOWs) and Performance Work Statements (PWSs).
  • Coordinates with the appropriate Capability Manager and/or CASCOM to schedule equipment users for VER activities.
  • U.S. citizenship required; must possess and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and a minimum of eight years of relevant logistics experience; additional years of directly related experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related tools is required.

  • Experience supporting a U.S. Army Project Office is preferred.
