About The Position

The Logistics Management Material Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of material procurement, receipt, inventory control, and material issue. This role requires technical knowledge and the ability to work independently when necessary, as well as attend production meetings. The specialist will manage stock control files, ensure timely handling of high-priority material, monitor receipts, and process inventory adjustments and invoice payments. A strong understanding of NAVSUP regulations and proficiency in MS products are essential. The position also involves planning for material management needs during CVN availability, preparing material requests, establishing requisition priorities, and managing production control for jobs. Experience in shipping or custody transfers for naval ship materials is also required. Additional responsibilities include maintenance or modernization availability planning, on-site training, and administration of material acquisitioning processes for the aircraft carrier fleet.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in developing, implementing, administering, and evaluating material management requirements for CVN readiness.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience developing solutions and planning for material management needs during CVN availability based on mission priorities and budget constraints of the command.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in preparing and submitting material requests for CVN readiness.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience establishing the assigned priority for each material requisition, ensuring that all material is at hand to support the production schedule for the availability.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in production control of the jobs relating to pulling data and converting data to the required destination system, coordination of the input and output functions to oversee the input and assure the output meets the required needs.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in shipping or custody transfers for naval ship materials stored or staged in a government facility.
  • Working knowledge with government credit card purchase (GCPC) procedures, ONE TOUCH, FEDMALL, FEDLOG, eRetrograde Management System (eRMS), WEBVLIPS, and PEDREP.
  • A valid secret clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Navy AK, SK, or LS experience.
  • BA in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Display technical knowledge in all aspects of material procurement, receipt, inventory control, and material issue.
  • Work alone when required and attend production meetings.
  • Manage stock control files including Transmittal Report (TL), Weekly Financial Obligations Report, Budget OPTAR Report (BOR), and Monthly Financial Report.
  • Ensure knowledge of all aspects of FLC and DLA operating procedures.
  • Ensure expeditious handling of high priority material requirements.
  • Monitor receipts due, receive, stow, and issue material against job control numbers.
  • Process adjustments on inventories and accounting for payment of invoices.
  • Display knowledge and understanding of NAVSUP regulations, policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Be fluent in the use of all MS products.
  • Develop, implement, administer, and evaluate material management requirements for CVN readiness.
  • Develop solutions and plan for material management needs during CVN availability based on mission priorities and budget constraints.
  • Prepare and submit material requests for CVN readiness.
  • Establish the assigned priority for each material requisition, ensuring material is available to support the production schedule.
