About The Position

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Management position in the SkyGuardian Global Support Solution (SGSS) Organization within our Sustainment Product Support group in Poway, CA. This position is responsible for supporting and coordinating the operational aspects of one or more SGSS International and Domestic customer sustainment projects and serves as a liaison between program management regarding technical integrated logistics strategies and administrative processes. Assists SGSS Country Leads across multiple country programs to develop solutions to meet customer goals and objectives. Responsible for planning and coordinating logistics activities that support SGSS customer aircraft spare parts, ground support equipment, and technical publications. Builds relationships with internal strategic business partners for the efficient monitoring of logistical project requirements. May accomplish objectives through subordinate management and/or professional staff. May be responsible for decisions that have a significant impact on outcomes such as changes to project schedules and/or allocation of resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline and eleven or more years of progressively complex logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Thorough understanding of aviation maintenance principles, concepts, and practices in support of logistics management and experience demonstrating a broad application of those practices and standards.
  • Comprehensive project management and leadership skills, including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones.
  • Ability to resolve complex management and technical problems and serve as spokesperson on logistic issues.
  • Ability to initiate, plan and manage logistics of customer projects.
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a wide range of issues.
  • Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage logistics project plans and monitor logistic resources in support of SGSS customer project schedules, budget and quality.
  • Manage the coordination of standardized logistic and project process with cross-functional SGSS teams in support of International and Domestic customers.
  • Contribute to International and Domestic customer contract proposal negotiations and contract modifications.
  • Coordinate with Sustainment Material Management and Warehousing in support of customer facility design and logistic requirements.
  • Coordinate logistics activities for selected projects, including logistics planning, training, aviation ground support equipment, aircraft parts management, supply chain activities from point of manufacturing through customer sustainment support of deployments.
  • Monitor and administratively support export/import documentation, customs requirements, and Packaging, Handling, Shipping and Transportation (PHS&T) plans for shipments to International and Domestic customers.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation to internal and external audiences as needed regarding logistics and project status.
  • Collaborate with management and project teams in the assignment and assessment of logistics and project goals to meet larger and more strategic business objectives.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Other duties as assigned.
