About The Position

Toyota’s Logistics Operations Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Logistics Innovation Analyst. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead development of kaizen and innovation through project management, problem solving, coaching team members on how to use creative solutions (create Power BI reports or how to use AI), create/maintain/handover data and cost visualization tools, and process optimization. Reporting to the Cost Management and Process Innovation Manager, the person in this role will support the department objectives to reduce inefficient workflow, both administratively and in the supply chain operation, reduce logistics cost and increase team member productivity across Manufacturing Part Operations (MPO). The Logistics Analyst should have strong project management skills and the ability to transform large datasets into actionable insights. This individual should be a creative problem solver with experience identifying unique and innovative solutions that challenge the status quo.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Data Science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related analytical field
  • 1+ years of experience identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Project management skills including master schedule creation, status/activity tracking, coordinating activity with stakeholders, and reporting at a high level.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Exposure in developing reports/dashboards with Power BI, Python, Alteryx, Tableau, AI or other Business Intelligence Tools

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Toyota Production System (TPS) and related concepts such as Just-In-Time, jidoka, and ji kotei kanketsu.
  • General understanding of Toyota’s manufacturing supply chain processes and systems (eKanban, TLMS, OWK, LIOS, etc.)
  • Experience with RPA, Power Automate, or other Process Automation Tools.
  • Formal training and/or certification in process improvement methodologies such as Toyota Business Practice (TBP) and Ji Kotei Kanketsu (JKK).
  • Experience working with financial reports and communicating with stakeholders in A&F functions.

Responsibilities

  • Support process change management and practice PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) to ensure successful process improvements, collaborating closely with NAMC Production Control and Management teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with Export, Operations, and Logistics Planning teams to identify cost and process improvement opportunities.
  • Practice Genchi Genbutsu, or “Go and See”, to observe and gain a deeper understanding of process inputs, outputs, and impact to downstream customers.
  • Lead external logistics cost and process improvement activities across TMNA and NAMC organizations by visualizing logistics costs, processes, and cost drivers. Facilitate sessions to explain cost results, cost forecasts, and cost and process kaizen.
  • Support North American Manufacturing Companies (NAMCs) and Service Part Centers to identify cost trends, visualize and communicate the trends to executive management.
  • Manage the North American Logistics Kaizen Report. Team Member will interact with NAMCs to understand the nature of their Kaizen submission and if it qualifies as Kaizen. TM reports to Senior Leadership, A&F and TMC.
