About The Position

Perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, installations, replacements, preventive maintenance, and diagnostic tasks for various makes and models of delivery vans. Work efficiently, accurately, professionally, and safely in accordance with company policies and applicable DOT, OSHA, and other governmental standards and regulations. Requirements

Ability to safely walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces that may be uneven or slippery, including working outdoors in inclement weather.
Must supply own mechanic tools; a 1/2-inch drive is required for van repairs.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to safely walk, reach (including above the head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary to perform job duties.
Ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, up to 50 pounds frequently and more than 75 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED.
At least 2 years of previous van repair and maintenance experience.
Technical training in mechanics, welding, body repair, and door repair.

Responsibilities

Repair or rebuild all or part of equipment, including foundation brakes, air systems, ABS, suspensions, sliders, landing gear, roll-up doors, electrical systems, lights, and interior and exterior body components.
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation.
Complete computer-based work orders with accurate descriptions of repairs performed and ensure parts used are charged to the work order.
Follow Kroger's policies and procedures when making repairs.
Access any area of the equipment necessary to perform maintenance, including inspecting and working in, on, or under parts of vans.
Maintain shop cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
Apply knowledge and work in accordance with DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA, and other applicable rules and regulations.
Maintain knowledge and proficiency with equipment and technologies that enhance Kroger's productivity.
Participate in company and/or vendor training programs.
Maintain flexibility to work outside the scheduled shift if needed.
