About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing all freight invoicing, transportation account control, and Government Property shipment coordination activities. This position addresses critical gaps in freight charge management and ensures proper oversight of company transportation accounts, including FedEx account usage, government property shipments, and related logistics operations. This role requires extensive collaboration with shipping, supply chain, finance, suppliers, and transportation companies to ensure seamless logistics operations and accurate cost management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in invoice/billing compliance.
  • Proven experience in inventory management, or related role.
  • Proficiency with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive materials (e.g., COMSEC) with a high level of discretion and compliance with regulations.
  • Ability to run reports, analyze data, and present findings to management.
  • Experience in customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and review pickup charges from all suppliers using the freight account to appropriate charge numbers
  • Investigate and review freight carrier drop-off charges made by employees at carrier locations
  • Investigate and review assign billing for 3rd party/collect shipments for dropships or inbound LTL freight
  • Create monthly reports on freight spending by category and program
  • Identify missing charge numbers and follow up with appropriate departments
  • Reconcile freight carrier invoices against internal shipping records
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for charge number assignment
  • Maintain transportation account numbers for the site
  • Communicate with program managers to obtain proper billing codes for unassigned charges
  • Generate government property shipment reports for compliance and auditing purposes
  • Track and document all government property shipments with proper identification
  • Ensure proper DD 1149 form processing for government property transfers
  • Audit compliance with government property shipping regulations
  • Coordinate with shipping, finance, supply chain, and transportation companies
