About The Position

The Freight Coordinator will schedule incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments to be transported via truck, train, or other means. Role and Responsibilities Coordinating with the Warehouse manager to schedule Kilcoy managed outbound freight carrier pickups of frozen and fresh perishable goods. Negotiate rates & services with major cross-divisional carriers. Identify and utilize carriers that maintain food safety and quality standards. Utilize ERP, WMS, and TMS software for managing orders and scheduling Understand, practice, and enforce Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMP’s) and Company food safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our products Performs other duties as assigned Requirements Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred 5+ years of experience in a production environment with duties directly related to transportation logistics, including inventory management, trucking bids, coordinating with warehouse operations and customer service. Experience working in a food processing environment Knowledge of database management, including enterprise software. MS Office proficiency, especially Excel Knowledge of GMPs, SPC, HACCP, OSHA, and USDA regulations. Production and Processing: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Time Management & Organization: Organize and prioritize your own actions efficiently and manage a variety of tasks simultaneously. Be flexible and react favorably to multiple priorities, changing schedules and daily assignments while paying attention to detail. Demonstrate a sense of urgency and focus on actions, while multi-tasking.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a production environment with duties directly related to transportation logistics, including inventory management, trucking bids, coordinating with warehouse operations and customer service.
