The Logistics Coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations of the shipping and receiving department, including team management, dispatch coordination, product quality control, and cross-departmental communication. This is a ground-level operations role with direct accountability for departmental standards and team performance.

Requirements

  • Experience in a logistics, shipping & receiving, or warehouse coordination role
  • Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with invoice reconciliation and health & safety regulations (WSIB an asset)
  • Experience with routing software and cold-storage/perishable goods handling preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing product movement for accuracy and timeliness
  • Enforce receiving standards (FIFO, ice removal, walk-in cleanliness, fridge maintenance)
  • Stage outbound orders and communicate same-day product discrepancies to relevant departments
  • Act as primary dispatch for all drivers; assign and optimize delivery routes
  • Monitor route progress and resolve delays in real time
  • Management of the dispatching platform, including routing and scheduling drivers
  • Inspect incoming product and verify accuracy of all outbound shipments
  • Conduct quality checks on product handed off from all departments prior to shipping
  • Document and escalate non-conforming product immediately
  • Oversee and verify all Pick Sheet tasks to ensure order accuracy before staging
  • Reconcile invoices against purchase orders and received goods
  • Maintain accurate records and liaise with the invoicing team on discrepancies
  • Enforce health and safety regulations within the department
  • Document and report workplace incidents per WSIB/Ontario requirements
  • Identify and mitigate hazards proactively
  • Manage day-to-day performance and accountability of the shipping and receiving team
  • Provide on-floor coaching and direction; escalate conduct issues as appropriate
  • Serve as the primary logistics contact across locations, departments, and invoicing
  • Maintain timely, accurate communication on shipment status, product issues, and updates
