About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator is a vital member of the Logistics team within RMG. The Logistics Coordinator is the primary point of contact for RMG site operations and is responsible for meeting the customer and site expectations on proper procedure and documentation of site operations. The Logistics team is fast-paced and requires great care and attention with respect to the various operationally critical processes within their set of responsibilities. The Logistics Coordinator must effectively support the needs of RMG site operations to facilitate the successful onward movement of customer cargoes.

Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in transportation, logistics, or similar role required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data entry, and accounting software programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, edit, and manage correspondence, reports, presentations, and logistics documentation.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems to support logistics operations, audits, and compliance.
  • Review, reconcile, and process shipping documents, including invoices, packing lists, rail billing, train billing, NVOCC rate filings, and customer invoicing.
  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor the arrival, discharge, and movement of trains across assigned facilities.
  • Create, distribute, and update packing lists, blueprints, and booking assignments.
  • Enter, verify, and analyze data in spreadsheets and logistics systems, including GrainTrac, Octopi, and other required software.
  • Generate operational and performance reports to support tracking, analysis, and decision making.
  • Manage GrainTrac settlements, ticket applications, and ticket corrections across locations.
  • Field customer booking requests and coordinate drayage services and facility scheduling.
  • Coordinate bookings with steamship lines, freight forwarders, commodity companies, and trucking providers.
  • Review carrier and trucking invoices to ensure accuracy and proper charges.
  • Support audits, compliance checks, and regulatory documentation, including fumigation logs and 921 2 requests.
  • Dispatch truckers, rail bill containers, and perform train billing for accounting after train completion.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to container exporting, bookings, inventory, and system discrepancies.
  • Interface with BCOs, shippers, and the BNSF rail team to ensure cargo specifications, train movements, and operational requirements are met.
  • Support logistics projects, process improvements, and the development of container lanes.
  • Ensure professional, courteous communication with customers, carriers, internal teams, and all stakeholders.
  • Assist other departments as needed or as assigned by leadership.
