About The Position

Keel was formed by bringing together three industry leaders combining generations of hands-on expertise in steel fabrication, shipbuilding, aerospace, and defense manufacturing. We build ships, defense systems, aerospace components, and heavy steel structures that serve critical missions — and we do it with pride. The Logistics Coordinator supports the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between departments according to production and shipping schedules. This role maintains accurate records and assists in minimizing downtime by ensuring timely material movement.

Requirements

Associate’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
ERP exposure preferred.
Basic problem-solving and math skills.
Willingness to learn 5S, inventory standards, and measurement tools.
Basic understanding of metric and imperial measurements.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a structured environment.
May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
May lift or carry 50lbs. Weights exceeding 50lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.

Responsibilities

Reviews production schedules and works with department supervisors to identify basic material requirements.
Assists with tracking overdue materials and updating material status.
Supports the requisition of materials and helps coordinate delivery dates.
Verifies material conformance to specifications under guidance.
Assists with kitting materials for production needs.
Computes simple material requirements using established tools and instructions.
Maintains manual or computerized records for material inventory and in-process reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
