About The Position

The Women & Gender Equity Network (WGEN) educates the McMaster community to create a campus free from prejudice and discrimination based on gender expression and/or gender identity. WGEN supports survivors of gender-based discrimination, sexual assault, and similar forms of violence. WGEN builds relationships within the McMaster community by providing information, resources, programming, and on-campus advocacy around gender-based oppressions. The Logistics Coordinator is part of the events team and is primarily responsible for organizing the logistics of WGEN events. This includes booking rooms and equipment, scheduling events, completing EOHSS fulfillments, managing event setup and takedown, and coordinating the Events Committee. This role also involves input into event brainstorming and content creation, as well as weekly upkeep of space materials and displays. The executive will collaborate with MSU and community partners to ensure projects are inclusive, appropriate, impactful, and align with principles of intersectional feminism.

  • Awareness and understanding of topics associated with WGEN (i.e. transphobia, racism, sexism, ableism, and human rights, heterosexism, cissexism, heteronormativity, intersecting oppressions and invisible privilege, sexual assault)
