About The Position

DSV is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their Solutions division in Florence, USA. This full-time position involves coordinating and overseeing daily operational activities, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping. The role requires adherence to company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, as well as compliance with all corporate and site-specific policies. The Logistics Coordinator will mentor and train associates, oversee inbound and outbound shipments, ensure efficient loading, and research discrepancies. They will also handle customer service interactions, prepare reports, and perform quality control functions to ensure accuracy and product integrity. Safety, housekeeping, and compliance with ISO standards and OSHA regulations are critical. The role involves directing warehouse operations, assisting with labor management, and participating in department meetings. Equipment operation, including forklifts and pallet jacks, is a key part of the role, requiring certification and adherence to safety protocols. Additional duties may include clerical tasks and working overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Able to operate MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency with RF Scanners.
  • Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) functions.
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 2-4 years proven forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities.
  • Train new and existing associates on current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
  • Assist in forklift operation and certification for new and existing associates.
  • Oversee and coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking/staging of outbound shipments.
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure proper product counts.
  • Efficiently and accurately load orders according to appropriate doors and trailers.
  • Process all shipping, receiving, and picking functions as defined by SOPs.
  • Research discrepancies in the shipping and receiving process.
  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner in appearance and communications.
  • Communicate with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person.
  • Prepare required activity reports accurately and efficiently for site management.
  • Ensure all product and/or orders are received or shipped correctly and accurately picked using appropriate documentation.
  • Verify products and/or orders meet quality standards, reporting any damages or discrepancies.
  • Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label product(s).
  • Process all quality control functions as defined by SOPs.
  • Report inconsistencies and/or problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Participate in quality meetings.
  • Comply with relevant ISO standards.
  • Execute all safety protocols and promote safety in all job tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse and assist in warehouse security.
  • Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
  • Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve prescribed objectives.
  • Assist associates and temporary labor in completion of productivity sheets and accurate capture of production and payroll hours.
  • Assist Supervisor in maintaining the level of employees consistent with a productive workforce.
  • Participate in establishing work schedules.
  • Ensure schedules are correctly implemented and jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor in ensuring all associates handle products according to prescribed quality procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in department meetings.
  • Initiate action to prevent non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
  • Identify and record problems relating to product, process, and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels for non-conformities.
  • Operate equipment including sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, Aisle Master, or pallet jack.
  • Perform upkeep of equipment and report equipment problems.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklifts or other equipment daily.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification.
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business.
