About The Position

At TC Transcontinental, we are looking for a Logistics Coordinator reporting to the Logistics Supervisor. This role is responsible for the seamless processing of outgoing shipments and performing any necessary tasks, including operating various hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery. The incumbent must understand the impact of this position on other business functions that rely on the accuracy and efficiency of outgoing items. Key functions include inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Good understanding of shipping and receiving processes within a manufacturing environment.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Strong capability to work within the organization and harmoniously within a team environment.
  • Ability to handle stress and deal with issues in a timely fashion in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound interpretation and analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be extremely self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive knowledge of courier systems, such as, FedEx, Purolator, UPS and Canpar/Loomis.
  • Strong telephone etiquette when calling external trucking companies or internal clients to set up shipments or book delivery appointments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide shipping status and order visibility information to internal and external clients, monitor shipping information, close shipped orders, and provide order status.
  • Schedule outgoing shipments to meet ship dates.
  • Conduct analysis on shipping quality incidents.
  • Prepare accurate bills of lading and packing slips.
  • Coordinate the ship schedule report daily.
  • Attend daily Production meetings.
  • Complete Customs paperwork for shipments destined for the USA.
  • Maintain regular communication with CSRs and production to ensure and verify priorities and timing.
  • Utilize courier systems such as FedEx, Purolator, UPS, and Canpar/Loomis.
  • Demonstrate strong telephone etiquette when contacting external trucking companies or internal clients for shipment arrangements or delivery appointments.
  • Complete an end-of-day report for the production team detailing shipped items based on the Kitting schedule.
  • Coordinate with material handlers to prepare and ship orders.
  • Provide special attention to jobs with breakdowns, distribution lists, or special labeling/shipping information.
  • Ensure Proof of Deliveries are filed daily and are readily accessible; scan and store all PODs electronically at the end of each month.
  • Receive stock, check it against inventory records, and prepare stock for delivery.
  • Ensure timely and accurate movement of different products between businesses in correct quantities.
  • Provide transit times and shipment quotes to CSRs and estimating using local or third-party carriers.
  • Assist in coordinating the transportation of finished products to customers.
  • Work overtime as required and perform other duties as requested to support the team.
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
