About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Logistics Associate II - 1st Shift. This position is based at our Orchard Park, NY facility and is responsible for preparing, processing and shipping in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner. Responsible for accurate physical packaging of materials/product in order to maintain integrity of product, generating labels and communicating with internal and external resources. Must follow all customer requirements and DOT regulations and ensure delivery of product on time to customers.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of relevant shipping/logistics experience or Military experience.
  • Previous experience using various hand tools, packaging equipment, and measuring equipment.
  • Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
  • Must be able to stand and walk for most of the work day.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and stack 35lbs from floor level to shoulder level.
  • Must be able to push/pull a pallet using a pallet jack.
  • Must be able to load/unload trucks outdoors in all weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma with Skilled Trade certification or Associates Degree.
  • 3 years of Aerospace Manufacturing or Assembly and Test.
  • Knowledge of standard shipping practices and the use of common packaging tools, hand tools, measuring equipment.
  • Possesses knowledge of standard packaging requirements including sealers, labeling techniques, and packaging equipment.
  • Basic experience with ERP systems and standard Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to use various hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, Cellular Manufacturing, One Piece Flow, and Continuous Improvement concepts.
  • Engaging by participation in Eaton culture opportunities (ex. iERG participation).

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are met.
  • Obtaining PIT certification.
  • Obtaining explosives clearance.
  • Performing assignments independently and understanding written instructions with support of the team on shipping processes following company policies and processes.
  • Learning packaging processes in a clean room environment.
  • Learning ERP/packaging transactions.
  • Independently packaging and shipping runner programs.
  • Understanding product quality requirements and following non-conforming material processes. Reporting findings to team.
  • Working in partnership with peers to achieve cell targets.
  • Following work instructions and performing tasks without supervision.
  • Communicating effectively, managing time and adapting to various work environments.
  • Identifying improvement opportunities, resulting in a decrease of lead time, cost savings, elimination of waste, or safety improvement.
