Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. IPSD has opportunities for full-time, temporary-to-permanent careers in their Griffin Facility. As an Assembly & Logistics Associate, you will be assisting in the production of medium diesel engines that power the world.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn and operate power equipment
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English
  • Willingness to work a set schedule including overtime when needed
  • Reliable transportation to and from work

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly operations, or warehouse experience
  • Demonstrated history of reliability and commitment, such as consistent participation and contributions to projects and goals
  • Experience with Microsoft Applications

Responsibilities

  • Align and secure engine components as directed by work instruction
  • Align and install gaskets, seals, bearing, hoses, covers, and visual components
  • Verify and correct alignment of engine components using engine schematics and part prints
  • Operate forklifts, tuggers, and other power equipment to move materials within the facility
  • Deliver, pick, move, and remove materials accurately and efficiently
  • Load and off-load materials on trailers
  • Check, tag, and repack various material
  • Ensure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defects
  • Maintain records and adhere to production goals
  • Follow standard operating procedures and area-specific work instructions
  • Report to Production Managers and be assigned to departments within the business to meet customer and company demands
  • All other duties as assigned
