About The Position

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Logistics Assistant to coordinate and communicate daily shipment activity across carriers, customers, plant operations, and sales teams. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate updates, investigating and resolving shipment delays, and maintaining strong relationships with carriers. The ideal candidate will provide consistent, clear communication and support to all stakeholders while driving efficient logistics operations.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information via phone and email.
  • Familiarity with the transportation industry preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on tasks and commitments.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and handling pushback professionally.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between carriers, customers, plant teams, and sales by providing daily shipment updates to Pilgrim’s customers and teams.
  • Ensure all shipment updates are delivered accurately and within established deadlines set by sales, customers and executives.
  • Investigate and document root causes for late or delayed loads.
  • Communicate shipment details clearly and consistently in the required formats for internal teams and customers.
  • Support the Carrier Support team with issue resolution and operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with carriers and drivers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
