We are currently seeking a detail-orientated and knowledgeable Logistics Assistant to Join our dynamic logistics team at EMS‑Tech. Requirements

  • Post Secondary Education in Business, Finance or equivalent field.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team member.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) – Intermediate level of proficiency.
  • Attention to detail.

  • Logistics experience considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end‑to‑end domestic and international shipments, providing project management support to the logistics team.
  • Review and optimize packaging methods to ensure safe, compliant, and consolidated transport.
  • Apply accurate HS/Tariff codes and advise on duties, classifications, and cost implications.
  • Interpret and recommend appropriate Incoterms, resolving supplier or client shipping challenges as needed.
  • Determine insurance requirements, calculate values, arrange coverage, and obtain certificates.
  • Prepare and submit Export Declarations and maintain an understanding of country‑specific export rules.
  • Create, review, and maintain shipping documents—commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and specialized export filings.
  • Complete compliance documentation such as CUSMA/USMCA certificates, Manufacturer Affidavits, ISF filings, and original document packages.
  • Respond to consignee or customs inquiries to support smooth clearance and expedite shipments when required.
  • Maintain an accurate Shipment Log for tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Coordinate courier shipments and oversee related documentation.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to order shipping materials and courier supplies.
  • Complete receiving processes for all incoming project materials and office packages with accuracy and proper handling.
