About The Position

Busek Co. Inc. is a growing aerospace and space technology company located in Natick, Massachusetts. We design, develop, manufacture, and test advanced propulsion systems and components for spacecraft and other demanding applications. Our work includes electric propulsion, chemical propulsion, Hall Effect thrusters, and advanced materials. Busek was the first U.S. company to fly a Hall Effect Thruster in space and continues to develop propulsion technology for some of the most challenging missions in the space industry. Busek is looking for a hands-on Logistics and Purchasing Coordinator to support the day-to-day movement of materials, equipment, and finished products while also assisting with purchasing and supplier activities. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes to keep things moving and organized. The person in this position will handle shipping and receiving, prepare and track shipments, receive and organize incoming materials, and help maintain inventory. The role will also support purchasing by obtaining quotes, creating purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, and following up on deliveries. The ideal candidate is comfortable working at a computer but is equally comfortable being on the floor, receiving a delivery, preparing a shipment, moving material, or helping solve a problem when something does not arrive as expected.

Requirements

  • Experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, purchasing, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience preparing and receiving shipments.
  • Experience working with vendors and suppliers.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with people across the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes, materials, and equipment as required.
  • U.S. Citizenship

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with purchasing or procurement processes is preferred.
  • Experience in an aerospace, manufacturing, or engineering environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials, components, equipment, and supplies.
  • Verify shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and package domestic and international shipments.
  • Coordinate shipments with carriers and freight providers.
  • Prepare shipping documentation, labels, packing slips, and other required paperwork.
  • Track shipments and follow up on delayed or missing deliveries.
  • Assist with loading and unloading shipments.
  • Move materials throughout the facility as needed.
  • Maintain an organized shipping and receiving area.
  • Create and process purchase orders for materials, supplies, and services.
  • Obtain quotes and compare pricing, lead times, and availability.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding orders, delivery dates, pricing, and shortages.
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up with vendors on late or incomplete deliveries.
  • Help identify alternative suppliers when materials are unavailable or lead times become an issue.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier information.
  • Support the purchasing and supply chain team with day-to-day activities.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Organize and label materials, components, and supplies.
  • Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
  • Identify shortages, discrepancies, or damaged material and communicate issues to the appropriate team.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials between receiving, inventory, manufacturing, engineering, and other areas.
  • Help maintain an organized and efficient materials storage area.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and other departments.
  • Help resolve day-to-day logistics and material issues.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Follow company procedures for handling, storage, shipping, and receiving of materials.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support Busek's operations.
