About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Logistics Analyst for their Charleston, SC customer site. This role involves overseeing the receipt and delivery of inbound/outbound goods, developing and maintaining program-specific logistics technical documentation, calculating procurement lead times and repair turnaround times, and cross-training/backing up other employees. The analyst will coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders, arrange for freight movement, process invoices, and assist with shipping logistics. The position also controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information, ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes, and encompasses maintenance, supply, transportation, and logistics plans. Program formulation, policy planning, and coordination are also inherent logistics tasks.

Requirements

Logistics technical documentation development and maintenance (Logistics Schedules, Action Item Tracking Sheets, Program Briefs & Presentations)
Procurement lead time calculation
Repair turnaround time calculation
Coordination with carriers and freight forwarders
Freight movement arrangement and system updates
Invoice processing
Assistance with shipping points, services, weights, and freight permits
Control of goods, services, and information flow
Planning, scheduling, and managing material movement
Execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes
Understanding of maintenance, supply, transportation, and logistics plans
Knowledge of program formulation, policy planning, and coordination

Responsibilities

Oversee the receipt and delivery of inbound/outbound goods
Develop and maintain program specific logistics technical documentation, such as: Logistics Schedules, Action Item Tracking Sheets, Program Briefs & Presentations
Calculate procurement lead time, repair turnaround time
Cross-training and backup of other employees
Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods
Arrange for movement of freight to consignee/agent and updates the system with information
Process necessary invoices to appropriate office for payment
Assist and evaluate needs with shipping points, services, weights and freight permits, and other information needed
Control the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between points of origin through customer placement to meet customer requirements
Plan, schedule, and manage the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production
Ensure the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes
Logistics functions encompass maintenance, supply, transportation, and logistics plans
Program formulation, policy planning, and coordination
