About The Position

The Logistics Analyst III is a senior-level logistics professional responsible for analyzing, developing, and optimizing logistics plans that support production, distribution, inventory management, and overall supply chain performance within a medical logistics environment. This position provides advanced analytical support, develops process improvements, and implements logistics strategies that maximize operational efficiency, minimize costs, and ensure timely delivery of medical supplies and equipment. Working with a high degree of independence, the Logistics Analyst III applies extensive knowledge of medical logistics principles and serves as a trusted advisor to management on complex logistics initiatives and supply chain optimization efforts.

Requirements

  • Average of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, supply chain management, inventory control, or medical logistics.
  • Extensive knowledge of logistics planning, inventory management, distribution operations, and supply chain best practices.
  • Experience analyzing complex logistics data and developing strategic recommendations.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings to management.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), or other federal healthcare logistics programs.
  • Experience using automated logistics, warehouse management, enterprise resource planning (ERP), or inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous process improvement methodologies.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Logistician (CPL), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution (CLTD) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop comprehensive logistics plans that improve production workflows, distribution networks, and inventory management processes.
  • Evaluate existing logistics operations and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Develop, review, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and best practices for distribution, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Perform advanced logistics analyses to identify trends, forecast inventory requirements, mitigate supply chain risks, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor inventory performance, stock levels, and material movement to ensure continuous operational readiness and supply availability.
  • Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and executive-level briefings on logistics performance metrics and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate logistics activities across multiple departments, suppliers, government personnel, and stakeholders to ensure mission success.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline logistics operations through automation, process redesign, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior logistics personnel and assist with training and knowledge transfer.
  • Support audits, compliance reviews, inventory reconciliations, and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure logistics operations comply with applicable federal regulations, agency policies, and organizational procedures.
  • Participate in strategic logistics planning, contingency planning, and supply chain risk management efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of medical logistics operations.
