We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Analyst based in Johnston, IA The Logistics Analyst position is responsible for freight and warehousing planning along with executing least cost/most efficient logistics plans that meet customer’s needs. This position will collaborate closely with our customer support teams, logistics providers, internal and external manufacturing sites and shipping locations to deliver on seasonal shipping commitments while providing a high-level of service for our customers. Logistics Analyst will also identify/develop process improvement opportunities and improve the integration of the supply chain process with the processes of other departments within Corteva. The Logistics Analyst will utilize and maintain data to provide visibility of KPIs that drive actions to ensure seed is shipped to meet geographical planting dates. VISA Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position. This is a hybrid role working in-office Tuesday–Thursday; remote Monday and Friday.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • 3+ years’ of experience in Agriculture, Logistics, Transportation, Supply Management, or related field
  • Working knowledge of the logistics Industry
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
  • Data analytics
  • High level of communication skills, written and oral
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Basic understanding of common process improvement tools and methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma

Responsibilities

  • Provide distribution support for all seed brands in the business within the U.S. and Canada
  • Proactively monitor weekly shipping pace, inbound/outbound shipping targets, carrier, and dock capacities; be prepared to address issues timely and work across teams for solutions.
  • Pre-position seed from production locations to regional distribution centers for seasonal shipping
  • Assist with developing the returns strategy and execution of the product returns plan
  • Communicate shipping metrics updates to leadership and brand stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the customer service teams, logistics providers, and shipping locations to manage the shipment scheduling process.
  • Communicate and work closely with logistics providers to quickly address any shortcomings with carrier performance such as on-time delivery, carrier professionalism, or damaged product.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with the quality, scheduling, and production teams to support seed movements across the network
  • Support the contract production teams with carrier and capacity planning functions
  • Participate in and support improvement and optimization projects for the distribution team
  • Other duties as assigned.
