About The Position

The Transportation Operations Representative is responsible for executing daily operational tasks related to shipment management, customer and carrier communication, and system data accuracy. With a focus on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, this role supports end‑to‑end transportation processes while adhering to company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This is a dynamic overnight team role that is primarily remote, with 1 day in office per month.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily transportation-related operational tasks in accordance with company policies and SOPs.
  • Create, activate, and manage transportation orders and shipments.
  • Build and assign loads within transportation management systems.
  • Schedule pickup and delivery appointments with carriers and customers.
  • Track and trace shipments to ensure on-time performance and issue resolution.
  • Provide shipment updates and transportation information to customers and carriers.
  • Monitor and respond to assigned email inboxes and task boards throughout the shift.
  • Document shipment events and update transportation systems accurately.
  • Complete invoicing functions and validate shipment/load data for accuracy.
  • Follow escalation procedures for service issues, delays, or complex requests.
  • Maintain strong communication with internal teams, carriers, and customers to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Customer interactions and carrier interactions.
  • Prioritize and multitask within a fast-paced operational environment supporting a high volume of customers.
  • Utilize customer-specific SOPs and workflows to support transportation operations effectively.
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members during overnight operations, with leadership support always available on shift.
